A house blessing is an ancient tradition performed by many cultures. Its purpose is to clear away any negative energy, protect the space for the future and create a loving and harmonious space in which to live. It is an excellent addition to a house warming celebration. Along with performing a blessing, I also do the Native American rite of smudging the space with desert sage.
